Equinor has announced the completion of installation of the second drilling platform which is the second of four planned platforms to be installed in the Johan Sverdrup field. The 3-hr long installation was completed with the help of a new technology on Allseas Pioneering Spirit vessel that enables single-lift installation of big platforms up to 48,000 tons. The use of Pioneering Spirit has helped cut one million manhours offshore for Equinor.
