Oil prices post new year-highs

Oil prices rose in the international market today, supported by the concerns of fresh sanctions on Iran and halt in exports by a crucial Venezuelan port. Benchmark Brent crude climbed 0.4%, and settled at $69.27 a barrel, before posting new year-high of $69.29. WTI crude futures posted $61.89 per barrel, before reaching to $61.87 a barrel, a jump of 0.5%.
