Oil prices rose in the international market on Monday, climbing on the hopes of a mutual decision between the world’s biggest oil producers to cut output amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Brent crude was traded 2.5% higher, at $33.88 a barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude edged up 3.6%, to $27.03 a barrel. Global oil demand has dropped by as much as 30% after a previous output deal fell apart.
