Schlumberger has won prior approval for completing a three-year-old plan to buy into Russia’s biggest oil driller. The firm has been given a green signal by Russia’s special commission on foreign investment to buy a blocking stake of 25% to 49% in Eurasia Drilling Co. Ltd., subject to certain terms and conditions.
