Shell eyes role expansion in North Sea

The Arran project in the UK North Sea saw a big change yesterday as South Korean Dana Petroleum sold its 20.43% stake in the project to RockRose Energy. However, RockRose is not planning to become an operator. This leaves Shell as the new operator of Arran project. The move would add an extra 7,000 b/d of oil output to Shell’s portfolio, expanding its role in the North Sea.
