E&P supermajor, Shell, is forced to endure cases of theft, kidnapping, vandalism, and piracy across Nigeria. Oil production in Nigeria is recovering from a major militant campaign in 2016. Shell produced an average of 631,000 bpd in Nigeria last year, about a third of the nation’s production. Although oil output climbs, the British-Dutch explorer still counted around 60 cases of sabotage and theft, compared with 49 the year before.
