Emerson Automation Solution has secured the monitoring contract for the Tyra gas field redevelopment project from Total E&P Denmark. Emerson will deploy its wellhead pressure monitoring technology to the gas field in the North Sea, in order to improve safety during the project redevelopment. Total initiated the redevelopment of the facility due to seabed subsidence.

Emerson has purchased Zedi's software and automation businesses. Both companies' software businesses aim at enhancing production efficiency by automating the process through edge and cloud analytics and machine learning. Emerson's Executive President said, "As world energy demand continues to grow, helping our vital oil and gas market customers maximize their resources is a top priority".

To further strengthen Emerson’s end-to-end exploration and production software portfolio it has launched Roxar Tempest 8.2 – the latest version of its reservoir management software, bringing advanced uncertainty analysis tools and increased support to the Big Loop workflow and robust risk analysis and reserves estimates across the seismic to simulation workflow.

A recent study by Emerson reveals that unconventional oil and gas operators can greatly enhance their performance with profits up to $7 billion by adopting advanced automation technologies. Digital transformation and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is shaping future operational excellence. Profitability can improve by as much as 10% with a comprehensive improvement program.

In order to enhance higher capacity natural gas applications, Emerson has expanded its size range of Fisher EZH and EZHSO pilot-operated regulators. These pressure reducing regulators are now available in new 6-inch, 8-inch and 12-inch dimensions and they allow for more flow. The new size offerings shall provide smooth and reliable operations.

To help Repsol identify and evaluate new and existing opportunities more accurately, Emerson has signed a mutli-year contract with Repsol to provide its Paradigm E&P software suite across all its global exploration operations. Director of Exploration Petro-technical Services at Repsol, Agustin Diz.said that Implementing Emerson’s E&P software suite across their global exploration program will increase efficiencies, reduce costs and improve their understanding of the subsurface.
