IGL rolled out piped gas connections to record 2 lakh homes: Chairman Singh

Natural Gas distribution firm, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has taken piped gas connections to more than 2 lakh homes in India, Chairman Gajendra Singh told shareholders on Monday. Singh added that the firm has expanded its CNG network to 500 stations by establishing 54 new outlets in 2018-19. IGL is now aiming at the consolidation of its position in current areas and ventures into new geographical locations.

IGL to set up CNG stations within housing complexes

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) is planning to set up dispensing stations of CNG within residential housing complexes. IGL has been under pressure to cut long queues at CNG stations, which often leads to traffic problems in New Delhi. MD, IGL informed about plans of adding record 60 CNG dispensing stations. For each CNG dispensing station, IGL requires a 10*10 metre sq area, which it will man itself.

IGL to add 60 CNG stations

India’s biggest city gas retailer, Indraprastha gas Limited (IGL) is planning to set-up over 60 CNG stations across the country. IGL MD said that the firm has adopted a dealer-franchise model to rapidly expand the network. IGL currently runs 452 CNG stations in different cities of India. The government is insistent on increasing the stakes of natural gas in the country's energy basket to 15%.

Indian IGL expects 20 percent spike in sales volume

On rising environmental concerns, the use of polluting pet coke and fuel oil has been banned in the National Capital Region (NCR), India. Consequently, Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (IGL) experienced a considerable gain in the last financial year. It further expects a hike in its sales volume to industrial and commercial clients by 20% in 2018-19.
