In order to attract global contractors, Petróleo Brasileiro, the Brazilian state-controlled oil company signed a $587 million contract with China’s Shandong Kerui Petroleum Equipment Co. to build a natural gas processing unit. The plant is to be built about 59 km to the east of Rio de Janerio and Petrobras said that the construction work shall commence by the end of the year.
