North Sea strike to continue today

Strikes at the North Sea assets of French oil giant, Total will continue for today, with more planned in the upcoming days. Unite rejected a request from Total last Thursday to append the action while considering new proposals. The firm recently came in a dispute with workers over shift in rotas to 3-on 3-off. Total recently acquired Maersk Oil, and moved to the new rota pattern to accomplish targets.

Talks fall apart, strike till October

The talks going on between worker’s union and Total fell apart yesterday, with workers now going for an additional five days of strike action, and till October if it comes to that. Complications with workers started post Total acquiring Maersk Oil this year. The French supermajor wanted to amend offshore rotations from two weeks on, three weeks off to three on, three off (3/3), which seems unacceptable to the workers.

Watkins-Former CEO of Maersk to join US leadership team of Shell

A series of changes have been announced by the Royal Dutch Shell to reorient its U.S. leadership team. The former CEO of Maersk Oil, Gretcher Watkins’s official joining in Shell is scheduled on May 1, 2018. She will assume the role of Shell Oil Company President. Gretcher will be accountable to the CEO with her office based in Houston.
