The OPEC Fund for International Development will finance 14.3 million U.S. dollars for the second phase of the studies in the submarine Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline project.
French renewable power producer Qair on Monday announced the commissioning of a ground-based photovoltaic (PV) plant in Morocco that will be supplying Swiss food and drinks giant Nestle SA (VTX:NESN). Located at the site of Nestle Morocco’s factory in El Jadida, the solar park is equipped with 2,600 PV panels that cover a total area of over 7,000 sq m (75,300 sq ft).
Sound Energy bagged the production concession for the Tendrara gas discovery in Morocco. Sound Energy will carry out drilling operations for 5 new horizontal development wells and redevelop the existing TE-6 and TE-7 wells. The project also includes construction of a gas treatment plant and compression station. A 120 kilometre gas export pipeline will also be laid to link the station with Gazoduc Maghred Europe pipeline.
An agreement for a 5,660 km gas pipeline, spanning across several African nations, has been signed to deliver gas between Nigeria and Morocco. The pipeline construction is projected for completion in 25 years. Morocco and Nigeria approved launching of a front-end engineering design (FEED) to involve transit countries in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The pipeline is expected to reduce Africa’s gas flaring and encourage energy diversity.
Sound Energy Plc has handed over the contract for building and operating a pipeline and processing facility at its gas asset in Eastern Morocco, to the Enagas consortium. The consortium will be conducting the front-end engineering and design (FEED), construction and operation for 15 years, under a 'build-own-operate-transfer' (BOOT) structure. This will help Sound Energy to commercialize their existing and future gas resources in Eastern Morocco.
