To provide better efficiency and productivity to the oil and gas industry, the Oil & Gas Innovation Centre will support digitalization based 3 new projects. For oilfield digitization, 3 companies have collaborated with RGU School of Computing Science and Digital Media to carry out research work. CEO of OGIC said that these projects will “reduce costs and increase efficiency and, ultimately, production in a less labor-intensive way.”

The Oil and Gas Innovation Centre (OGIC) is finalising agreements on five new technologies, attracting an investment of almost £3.8 million. The technologies being developed are said to have the potential of curbing the operational costs and improve efficiency. OGIC recently signed its 75th project, to which CEO Ian Phillips regards as a milestone that reflects an appetite to develop solutions for the challenges encountered by the industry.
