Venezuela and Iran have urged fellow OPEC members to stand united against U.S. sanctions. In the letters written separately by the two countries, the two nations subjected to US sanctions have asked the organization to openly discuss the effect of American sanctions in the upcoming OPEC meeting on the 22nd of this month. The Venezuelan Oil Minister has referred the sanctions as extraordinary aggression, financially and economically.
