Malaysia looks at increased revenue from Petronas

The Malaysian government is planning on collecting revenue up to $2.3b from state-owned Petronas, in an attempt to offset a revenue shortfall from the government's plan to scrap a consumption tax. Petronas’ January-March quarter profit totaled $3.26 billion. With crude oil prices soaring higher, the government is looking towards its most significant contributor to revenue, for an increased share in the profits this year.
