Houston-based Chemicals manufacturer, Nissan Chemical America Corporation (NCA) has joined hands with industrial gas suppliers, Messer Americas, to enhance oil and gas production. The two firms have collaboratively developed a treatment, nanoActiv HnP—an energized, fast turnaround style “Huff ‘n Puff”— which incorporates nanoActiv with a CO₂ or N₂ gas application method to enhance oil and gas recovery.

The chairman of India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) informed that the company is planning to enhance the oil and gas output from old and matured fields. For this, the firm is looking for enhanced oil recovery techniques and production enhancement contracts (PECs). The service providers will have to bid incremental production profile and maintenance profile for base oil production, informed the Chairman.

In order to develop and embrace new technologies to increase oil recovery, Russia’s Gazprom Neft and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) have come together as technical partners at the Eastern Economic Forum. The objective of the partnership also includes developing advanced techniques for polymer and surfactant flooding. The first step in the process would be a feasibility study for surfactant flooding which will take place at the Sutorminskoye field.

Pulse Oil Corp. announced that it has purchased 3D seismic data set for attaining its goal to unlock oil from the Nisku reefs through EOR. This data is critical for the Calgary-based company for asset optimization and will become a critical component of the contract awarded recently to Schlumberger for completing all three phases of the company’s petro-technical modeling of the Bigoray Nisku D and E pools.
